Today, we have the privilege of delving into Sarah's world as she shares insights on beauty, health, and wellness, offering invaluable tips to cultivate balance and vitality in the modern age, one mindful moment at a time.

What does a healthy / Clean lifestyle mean to you?

This is a big question for me! I guess the main message is that it is different for everyone, and I really try to communicate that in my content.

Personally, it is making choices that feel good for me. One day that might be predominantly organic produce and proteins, with no alcohol or sugar, another day it might be pizza, cookies and pies with my daughter.

Healthy really is about the balance in terms of what we eat. I do however have a phrase that I use a lot which is “wellness is more than your waistline”. Meaning, health shouldn’t just be measured in what we weigh and what we look like.

To me, it is nourishing not just the body, but the mind and spirit also. We can eat all the salads in the world, but if our soul is not happy, or we are having destructive, negative thought patterns, then there are other pieces to the overall work of art that we are, that need attention.

What are the daily rituals that have made the biggest impact in your life?

My music. I play a variety of healing instruments such as the frame drum, alchemy singing bowls, and native American flute that are the ultimate in self-care for me. When I get time to myself, I pick up the drum.

I am also loving the ritual of cherishing my drinking water. I create what’s called sole drops to add salts to it, use spring water and place it in a blue bottle, position in the sunrise each morning to solar charge, and then say an affirmation with each sip.

It might sound far-fetched, but I truly believe that even the most simple of acts can become an opportunity for something sacred. It doesn’t matter what the ritual is, if I do it with consistency, this solidifies the nourishing intentions.

What does beauty mean to you?

Beauty to me, is an energy not an aesthetic. I’ve met some incredibly visibly attractive people over the years, and their vibration has not matched the beauty, so the looks become a non-event so to speak. Likewise, I’ve encountered people that are not the traditional embodiment of beauty, but have what I call, an effervescence, a passion, an inner confidence and radiance that makes them more beautiful than even the greatest supermodel.

What advice would you give to women who are wanting to make wellness a priority in their life?

Get to know yourself.

We are surrounded and suffocated with so much distraction and comparison which can lead to disappointment. I think more than ever, with the introduction of AI characters online, which even at these early stages, are hard to decipher if real or not, we need to tap into our own power, passions and desires.

Start by asking yourself, what do I love, what makes me feel good, and what would excite me to get started on. Whether it’s a workout plan, or an eating shift, there has to be that personal propulsion to not only get started, but to maintain.

I also recommend finding and following other women that are of similar ages, or older, with similar life circumstances as yourself that are already doing what you want to be doing in terms of wellness. It really is counterproductive to think a 20 year old with no kids, or commitments should be our diet and exercise motivation, when we are 45, a mum, wife, worker etc etc.

What are your favourite beauty from the inside out foods?

The 3 F’s! Fats, fruits and ferments.

I love fruits of all kinds and they are such a beautiful source of antioxidants, especially the darker skinned berries.

Fats are essential for radiant skin, and supple joints and bodies. Good quality animal fats, pasture eggs, avocado, so much to choose from!

Ferments are your goodies like kimchi, kefir, and sauerkraut. Gut health is where it is at for our skin health, and eating our sources of healthy probiotics rather than popping a pill is far easier for our guts to use and enjoy.
