It's B Corp Month and we’ve been reflecting on what being a B Corp means to us and how it has shaped our journey so far.

Why is it important to us at Aleph?

Since launching Aleph in 2019, Emma’s intention has always been clear — to put people, planet and animals first. Becoming B Corp certified wasn’t a marketing milestone for us; it was simply the natural next step.

It gives us a framework to measure what we care about — with real rigor, real transparency and real accountability. It challenges us to keep improving, not just in how our products perform, but in how we operate as a business.

In August 2023 after many months of dedication we proudly received our B Corp Certification. Although we were accustomed to the scrutiny that certifications bring, this felt like a very special and significant milestone in Aleph’s journey.

What is a B Corp?

A B Corp, or Certified B Corporation, is a for-profit company verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. The "B" stands for benefit, representing a commitment to balancing profit with purpose by benefiting people, communities, and the planet.

The New B Corp Standards and What’s next for Aleph?

We’re very excited about the recent launch of the new B Corp standards. B Labs move away from a flexible points-based model to defined, higher performance requirements across seven key ESG areas (below) means greater accountability — and a stronger commitment to doing better, every step of the way.
